Travis County Deputy Sheriff Keith G. Ruiz was shot and killed on Feb. 15, 2001 while serving a felony narcotics warrant. Keith was a 13-year veteran of the Travis County Sheriffs Office when he made the ultimate sacrifice.

As dedicated of an officer as he was, it did not compare to the love and devotion he had for his family. No words can describe the pain and emptiness that remains in their hearts. Keith is survived by his wife, Bernadette and three sons, Matthew, Alexander and Joshua.
