Aug. 31, 1959 - June 26, 1979

Cydney Myers was a loving daughter and sister.

Cydney was captain of her high school gymnastics team and was going to school to become a computer programmer.

When she was 15 she made dolls and doll clothes, crocheted house shoes and made Afghans and other items to riase money for the Elks’ Club Children’s Hospital.

She loved being in the yard with her flowers and vegetables and was very much into fitness and healthy eating.

Cydney was very smart and felt that everybody and everything had a good side.

And, most of all, I was very sick as a child and she helped take care of me. When I was sick, she made me sleep with her so that she could watch me - she would get up with me when I was sick in the middle of the night.

Cydney Myers was killed on June 26, 1979 by man now imprisoned. Her death drove her mother, Nell Myers, to found People Against Violent Crime. Nell Myers was a champion of victim’s rights until her death in Sept. 26, 2000.
