Carl Mathews Jr. was an Army Veteran leaving the Army after eight years. He loved racquetball and football.

Carl worked at Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso for several years. He was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

He was surved by his mother, two sisters, Colleen and Kerry and a brother, Kevin. He also has two children, Mason and Tiasha Mathews.

He and his wife Gayle were murdered on Aug. 24, 1990. Their killer was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life. Our family suffered greatly for the loss of Carl and Gayle.
