Carroll Ann Harris

Carroll Ann Harris

May 20, 1954 - July 25, 1994

Carroll was born and raised in Austin, Tx. She was the mother of two. She's a graduate of Huston-Tillotson University. At the time of her death she was employed with the State of Texas as a budget analyst.

On July 25, 1994, while Carroll was asleep, a cowardly gunman stepped upon her front porch. She rose from bed to see whom it could be in the early morning hour. As she stood on the other side of the unopened door, he opened fire. A barrage of bullets sprayed the house. Two bullets pierced through the door, killing her.

Carroll loved people and valued education. She was warm-hearted, loved cats and enjoyed her spirituality. She left behind many family members and lots of friends that all miss her dearly. She was a ray of sunshine to so many people.

In August, 2005 there was a long overdue trial. After eleven years, her murderer was finally sentenced to 99 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole in 30 years.

I would like to extend a very special "thank you" to People Against Violent Crime. Your organization has helped so many families to be able to deal with the violence which suddenly entered our lives.
