David Bonin was the father of one daughter. He had three brothers and seven sisters who looked up to him, and loved him very much. David worked as a machinist and enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with cars. Some of David's most endearing qualities included his laughter, sense of humor and love of practical jokes. He was a very compassionate person and hated seeing anyone down and out. Much to the distress of his mother and father, David once picked up a father and daughter who were hitchhiking at night in the rain and brought them home.

On Nov. 18, 1978, David and his father L.C. were murdered in Porter, Texas. One of David's younger brothers was wounded but survived. The murderer was never brought to justice.
